You are invited to become a member of the Zoo family (or give a membership) - at 30% off!

Family Membership benefits include:

• FREE admission 362 days of the year at Oakland Zoo for two named adults and up to four children

A Family Membership normally costs $139, but a limited number are on sale for the holidays at 30% off - only $97! Given current parking fees and admission tickets, your membership would be more than paid for by two adults and two children visiting the zoo twice in the next 12 months.

Please note: this deal is available only for families who are not currently Oakland Zoo members. This deal cannot be used to extend or upgrade an existing Oakland Zoo membership.

ZooLights, our popular holiday fundraiser, is open December 4 - January 3. Memberships purchased through this offer can be used for FREE admission on Member Mondays (December 7 & 14) or to purchase discount ZooLights tickets for any other night ($1 off per ticket.) Please note, since ZooLights is one of our most important annual fundraisers we are unable to give members free admission on any nights other than December 7 & 14. ZooLights will be closed on December 24 & 25 so that staff may spend the holiday with their families. ZooLights is also subject to weather-related closures.

FAQs

Can I purchase this deal as a gift?

Yes! During the checkout process you will be required to provide:

• Your own name and billing address
• The first and last name of the two adults on the gifted membership
• Contact information for the gift recipients including mailing address, telephone number, and email address

The membership cards will be mailed directly to the gift recipient, however the confirmation email that can be used as a temporary pass will be sent to the purchaser. We recommend that you share that email with the gift recipeints, both so that they can use the membership immediately and so they know who gave them a year of zoo fun!

How soon can I start using my membership?

Right away! After purchasing this deal, you will receive a confirmation email that will serve as a temporary membership pass. You (or the second named adult) can print this temporary pass and start using it today! Please note, members are always required to show photo identification along with their temporary pass or card.

When will my membership cards arrive?

That depends on your date of purchase and the United States Postal Service. We have to manually import the sales data from Eventbrite to our membership database, a process that takes about three days. We send membership cards by first class mail, which can take up to fourteen days.

Remember your confirmation email - even for gift memberships - can be used as a temporary pass. All of the memberships purchased through this offer will be good through December 31, 2016.

Since it is the holiday season and we anticipate many of these memberships being gifts, we have included the mail date in the ticket details and below:

• Purchased November 16-29 → Into the mail December 4
• Purchased November 30-December 6 → Into the mail December 11
  
• Purchased December 7-13 → Into the mail December 18
  
• Purchased December 14-27 → Into the mail December 31
  
• Purchased December 27-31 → Into the mail January 8
  

Can I just put one name on the membership and bring another adult as a guest when I visit the zoo?

No. Oakland Zoo does offer membership levels that include the flexibility to bring a guest on each visit, but the Family Membership does not include a guest option. Once your membership cards have arrived by mail, you can upgrade to a higher membership level by phone or in person at the Membership Booth (located at the zoo's main entrance.)

Can I purchase this deal more than once - for myself and as a gift, or multiple gifts for different families?

Yes, you can purchase this deal multiple times but you must complete the checkout process separately for each membership you purchase. This ensures the confirmation email includes the correct membership data and can be used as a temporary membership pass.

Can I cancel and get a refund?

No. All EventBrite membership sales are final and non-refundable. This includes memberships purchased as a gift. We recommend confirming the recipients are not current Oakland Zoo members before purchasing this deal as a gift.
